Cloddiad naw dydd o hyd i ymchwilio olion pentref canoloesol anghyfannedd yn Llanismel, Glanyfferi, a ddechreuodd ar 6 Medi. Mae gwirfoddolwyr lleol yn gweithio gydag Ymddiriedolaeth Archeolegol Dyfed i gofnodi olion y tu mewn o un o’r adeiladau ac olion eraill ar hyd yr arfordir, sy’n cael ei erydu gan y mor. Y gobaith yw i benderfynu ar ddyddiad un o’r adeiladau, ei bwrpas a pham y cafodd ei adael. Mae’r gwaith yn cael ei ariannu gan Cadw.

A nine day excavation to investigate the remains of the deserted medieval village at St Ishmaels, Ferryside, started on September 6th. Local volunteers are working with the Dyfed Archaeological Trust to record the remains of the interior of one of the buildings and other remains along the coastline, which are being eroded by the sea. It is hoped to determine the dates of one of the buildings, its function and why it was abandoned. The work is being funded by Cadw.

CASTELL NANHYFER 2009-10 / NEVERN CASTLE 2009-10

DYDDIADUR CLODDIO
/ DIG DIARY

Nod prosiect Castell Nanhyfer yw cael gwybod mwy am y safle hwn drwy raglen o gloddiadau archeolegol. Cynhelir y cloddio am dri thymor ar wahân dros ddwy flynedd, a bydd yn chwilio am dystiolaeth o arddulliau a thechnegau adeiladu, ac bywyd o ddydd i ddydd mewn castell yn y 12fed ganrif. Bydd y cloddio yn agored i’r cyhoedd allu ymweld ag ef, a chroesawn ymweliadau gan grwpiau gan gynnwys ysgolion, a grwpiau hanes ac yn y blaen.

Yn dilyn hynny, bydd y prosiect yn gwella’r mynediad at y safle, ac yn cyflwyno Castell Nanhyfer fel rhywle i fynd iddo a mwynhau’r awyrgylch a gwerthfawrogi’r hanes.

Bydd y Cloddiad Haf 2010 yn rhedeg o 21 Mehefin i 16 Gorffennaf. Bydd teithiau o’r cloddiad i’w cael bob diwrnod ond am Ddydd Iau.
Nodwch fod na ddim teithiau o’r safle ar Ddydd Mercher 31 Mehefin a Dydd Iau 1 Gorffennaf

The Nevern Castle project aims to find out more about this site through a programme of archaeological excavation. The excavation will run for three separate seasons over two years, and will look for evidence of building styles and techniques, and of day to day life in a 12th century castle. The dig will be open for the public to visit, and we welcome visits from groups including schools, history groups etc.

Afterwards, the project will improve access to the site, and present Nevern Castle as somewhere to come to enjoy the atmosphere and appreciate the history.

The summer 2010 excavation will run from 21 June to 16 July. Daily tours of the excavation will be provided, except on Thursdays.
Please note, no site tours on Wednesday 30th June and Thursday 1st July
